Are you ready to Carve with Confidence?  Hi, I’m Diana with SampleHAUS, and I want to show some of my tips on how I carve patterns into my work.  Carving into your work can be scary, but I’m here to help you through your fears.  We’ll be using my favorite carving tools by DiamondCore Tools, and adding a little color with some Underglazes.  You can keep the tool for an added cost.  Pre-made Coasters included.  It’s a great opportunity to try out something new, and a variety of DiamondCore Tools!

Sgraffio is the technique we will be using. I will teach you my tips for being more confident with carving into your work. There will be a pre-made Coasters included to work on. Feel free to bring in 1 pot of your own that’s leather hard. Bring in an inspirational pattern (nothing too complicated) that resonates with you.

I’ll be giving several demos, and answering questions as we go.  Let’s have some fun!

About Diana Adams

Diana Adams started SampleHAUS in 2019 in Los Angeles Ca.  SampleHAUS started as a place where she created unique and one of a kind art work from interior design waste and discontinued marketing samples.  Now she makes dope small batch pottery such as her well sought after planters and home accessories.  Her work is inspired by bold graphic African patterns and bright colors.

SampleHAUS got its start by creatively up-cycling interior design waste into eclectic home decor. While working at an interior design firm, I was always surrounded by beautiful fabrics and other materials that mostly ended up getting thrown away, for reasons as discontinuation or project surpluses. I decided to begin collecting these excess materials and that’s when SampleHAUS was born.

Today, my pottery has taken the spotlight in and running the business.  I focus on making aesthetically pleasing home decor, accessories, and functional ware.  My pottery business has grown to a point where I have stores wanting to stock my products in their stores, and consumers wanting classes to learn more about pottery.  I love where my business is going, and I thrive to continue to grow for the better of my customers and the environment.
