About The Event
Experience an innovative mind/body approach to making. Whether you are a brand new beginner or an intermediate maker, learn how to integrate your mind, breath and body through the process of shaping clay. Bring a sketchbook/journal to the first class meeting and be prepared to radically enhance your creativity, your concentration, and your mind/body connection.
Week 1 Finding your Center
Centering meditation exercises and Introduction to throwing
Week 2 Refining your Center
Breath Awareness meditation and Trimming. Continuing to practice throwing.
Week 3 Silently Centering
Explore the practice of silence to deepen your concentration and Glazing. Continuing to practice trimming and throwing.
Week 4 Freedom at the Center
Take all the tools you have acquired over the course and explore freedom of expression
About the Instructors:
Jessica & Stéphane are internationally renowned educators and Potrero Hill residents. They have developed innovative mind/body curriculum for schools around the world, and trained over 100 yoga teachers. They are the founders of Triveni Yoga, and have completed over 450 days of silent meditation retreat together. Jessica has a B.A. from Yale University in Architecture, and an MFA from California College of the Arts.
