Techniques for Enhancing Wheel Thrown Surfaces

This two-day hands-on workshop is designed for wheel throwers who wish to learn new techniques for enhancing and decorating the surfaces of their pots. Hsin-Chuen Lin will demonstrate how to apply a chattering texture, how to use sodium silicate to achieve a crackle texture and how to apply roller textures to the surface of your pots. Additionally, Hsin will demonstrate throwing skills including throwing off the hump. Everyone will have the opportunity to make a chattering tool from a hacksaw blade.
